Gilcrist, Krupa Earn Player of the Week Honors


CJ Gilcrist (Monroe, NY) was named first star of the week for the Pottstown event during the ECRHA's Roundtable Discussion between Commissioner Bill Bourque and Marketing member Jesse Creek. Gilcrist registered 12 goals and 12 assists for a total of 24 points over the four game weekend for Cortland. Jesse Creek noted about CJ, "... he pretty much had a hand in half of his teams goals this weekend, which is pretty impressive especially when you score forty-nine goals." GIlcrist currently has a total of 29 points through the first 6 games of the season for the Red Dragons.

Gary Krupa (Port Jefferson, NY)
earned third star of the week. Gary had 15 points over the weekend. Krupa, the newly named assistant captain of the Cortland squad is leading by example. As a defenseman Krupa has tallied 47 career points through his first 22 games as a Red Dragon. He is second on the career leaders.

Commissioner Bourque stated in the discussion, "... they (Cortland) seem to be the favorites right now to win Division III." With Cortland being 6-0 heading into the winter break they have a stranglehold on the standings. The Dragons have netted 66 goals in 6 games averaging 11 goals per game. They have also allowed only 14 goals against thus far for a total of 2.33 goals against per game. Cortland is on pace to break every record in school history. They are only 9 goals off of their 75 goal output in 2010-2011.
